Hardware

We do not sell computers however we do sell a lot of hardware you cannot buy at your local best buy.

The hardware used along with the Edge Software can be very flexible. The following is a list of hardware options:

 

Printers

 

Edge works with any printer set up in your Windows Printer settings. Receipt printers can be added to the system. Edge supports them all

 

Cash Drawers:

 

The application will work with virtually ANY cashdrawer using a universal triggering signal. The software sends a signal to the desired port utilizing Receipt printers, Dedicated serial port connections, LPT add-ons or internal PCI triggering cards which in turn sends either a 12 or 24 volt signal to the drawer to spring it open ESMSI can supply Cash Drawers or recommend manufacturers of these devices.

 

Bar Code Scanners:

 

Bar Code scanners are used instead of typing in product numbers in a sale or when receiving or adjusting inventory. In our experience, Light pens are not as reliable as wands which emit a scanning beam. The reason is that unlike in say a video store, most everything sold in a salon is on a curved surface and the pen can have problems scanning the code reliably.

 

Programmable Keyboards:

 

Programmable keyboards can be added in conjunction with the regular keyboard. These look much like the keyboards at your local McDonalds. The user programs each key to perform a number of keystrokes in succession and assigns a title to each key. Programmable keyboards are available from 22 - 130 keys and are available in either key or membrane styles

 

Touch Screen Monitors:

 

Touch Screen Monitors are available and were kept in mind with the development of EDGE. This allows the user to operate the program by touching the monitor screen instead of using the keyboard and mouse to maneuver around. Touch screen monitors vary in price but a reliable one is approximately 3 times that of a normal monitor.
